My new position, well fairly new position, has entered me into a new level of virtualization. By that I mean, I really have not had to manage such a large environment before and sometimes the task seems very daunting. Almost 100 ESX hosts, upwards of 1000 guest servers, and averaging about 15 new guests every 2 weeks. That’s just crazy. Now I am finally understanding VM “sprawl”. Funny, a fellow engineer mentions to me that “isn’t VM Sprawl an Oxymoron?” Yeah, probably, but I’m living it. Every day.
